PROJECT OVERVIEW

Vertical Farming 2.0 is a strategic innovation initiative designed to evolve the next generation of high-tech indoor farming. While the first wave of Vertical Farming proved the technological potential, VF 2.0 focuses on the two most critical factors for long-term success: Commercial Viability and Energy Efficiency.

This Fieldlab serves as a global bridge, translating world-class Dutch horticultural expertise into scalable business cases for international markets, including the USA, Southeast Asia, and the Gulf States.

1. Global Ecosystem & Knowledge Transfer We are building a robust innovation ecosystem that connects private technology providers, governments, and NGOs. By integrating the latest research into educational curricula, we ensure a future-ready workforce to lead the global agritech transition.

2. International Market Expansion & Business Intelligence We are developing data-driven models to assess economic feasibility in diverse climates. By aligning high-tech designs with local market demands in regions like the Middle East and Asia, we create investment-ready business cases for climate-neutral food production.

3. R&D: Energy Efficiency & Crop Diversification A core focus of this project is optimizing energy consumption—the primary challenge in the VF sector. Our R&D team is developing advanced cultivation protocols for new, high-demand crops, ensuring that vertical farms are not only sustainable but also highly profitable.
